"What do I need to do to prepare for my boudoir session?!"
It's one of the most common questions we get when our clients first inquire about a boudoir session at our boudoir studio in Winston Salem NC. Never fear, here at Biondi Co Boudoir, we will guide you every step of the way, even before your session happens!
Although we send out a prep guide once you have booked your boudoir session, we think it's definitely helpful for people to have some tips beforehand, especially if you're on the fence. Anything to take some of the nerves away and make your life easier! Here's our top 10 tips on how to prepare for your boudoir session with Biondi Co Boudoir!

-Pamper yourself-
Use your boudoir session as an excuse to treat yourself. Get your nails done, get a facial, buy some nice lotion and have a detoxing bath! Do whatever makes you feel beautiful, relaxed and radiant.

-Avoid scheduling around that time of the month-
Periods are a natural and normal thing of course, but they may cause you to not feel your very best. Cramping, bloating, and mood swings may take away from your experience and leave you feeling regretful that you couldn't fully enjoy your session. Our advice is to plan ahead and book your session around your cycle so you feel amazing and confident during your shoot!

-Drink Lots and Lots of Water-
You've probably heard your entire life how important it is to stay hydrated, and that's true for your boudoir session as well! Staying hydrated helps reduce bloating, and majorly improves how your skin looks and feels. Also, it's really really good for you!

-Limit foods that cause bloating-
If you want to avoid bloating, start steering clear from certain foods and drinks about a week before your session. Junk foods like pizza and chips, bubbly drinks and alcohol all can cause slow digestion and bloating, or cause you to look puffy (looking at you, alcohol!). You also may be surprised to find that limiting some veggies wouldn't be a bad idea as well. Veggies like broccoli, brussel sprouts and beans can cause gassiness, bloating and discomfort in some people. Dairy may also be a no go for some people, particularly those who are lactose sensitive/intolerant.

-Treat yourself to some lingerie-
Use your upcoming boudoir session as an excuse to shop for some pretty lingerie! Boost your confidence by finding something you feel beautiful in. Look for some in your favorite color, or push your own boundaries by trying on a style you wouldn't usually wear. As long as your comfortable in it, you're going to look and feel amazing during you session! And when you book with us at Biondi Co Boudoir Studio, you will receive a lingerie guide to help you pick the best lingerie for your boudoir photoshoot!

-Avoid spray tans, hair cuts and hair dye-
About a month before your boudoir photoshoot, try not to change your appearance too much. Nothing will hurt your confidence like a potentially bad hair cut or a color you're not in love with. We also urge you to avoid a fresh spray tan and don't get any new piercings that may not be healed in time for your boudoir session.

-Get a good nights rest-
Make sure you get plenty of sleep before your boudoir photoshoot to avoid dark circles, dull skin and low energy for your boudoir session. You're going to be doing a lot of work (posing ain't easy!) and you're going to want to have the energy to move.

-Stretch-
Stretching before and after your boudoir session is some of the best advice we can give. Coming in with loosened up muscles will allow you to arch more and prevent soreness later. Stretching everything back out afterwards will feel amazing and also helps prevent soreness.

-Eat before your session-
In our opinion, this is the most important tip you can follow. Some people will avoid eating because they don't want to be bloated for their session, but we cannot stress enough that not eating will do more harm than good (and if you're worried about bloating, just limit the foods mentioned above!). We do not want you fainting or feeling light headed during your session. Boudoir posing can be similar to yoga in some ways, and you'll be using muscles that aren't usually worked. It's important that your body has the proper energy to move.

Keeping these tips in mind will help your boudoir session go smoothly!
