Thinking about a couples boudoir session? We've got you covered!
We've had some amazing couples come in for couples boudoir shoots lately and we are LOVING it! There's just something about capturing the intimacy between 2 people that we just can't get enough of. We'd love to have more couples come into our studio, so we're going to answer some questions you may have if you've been considering a couples shoot with us.
The first question we want to answer is do we shoot erotic (penetration or physical sexual acts). We do NOT shoot erotica. If you are wanting an erotica shoot, we are happy to refer you to someone that does photograph it. Any poses that we have you do are implied and not the actual act. Couples posing is actually a lot less sexy than it looks on camera! There is a lot more laughing and joking around than you would ever guess.
Our couples sessions start out similar to our regular boudoir sessions. Hair and makeup is first, and the significant other that is not having this done can sit and chat with us, snack and hang out until their partner is done being pampered. We'll go over what to expect during the session, how everything works and what to do if someone gets a little TOO happy (its totally OK and perfectly normal!!).
When hair and makeup is finished, we'll make the official outfit selections. We do not currently provide wardrobe for men, but we do go over what to bring to your session in the preparation step before your shoot date! We do have a client closet option for the ladies, as well as wardrobe guidance.
Once we decide on our final wardrobe selections, it's time to get started! We like to start with individual photos of each person first. This allows everyone to get warmed up and get used to the camera. Then we get to the couples magic!
We'll start with the more "tame" poses and work our way to the sexier stuff as we move through the shoot. We love to start with clothes (at least mostly) on. It allows for some beautiful story telling as the two of you undress each other down to your comfort level (we will never ask you to do anything you are not comfortable with!). We'll guide you through every step of the way, sometimes posing you, sometimes letting your intimacy play out without interruption.
Couples shoots are so much fun but can also be nerve wracking. I promise that you will have a blast and it's so worth it to have these beautiful intimate moments captured!
