It is always such an honor when clients come back to us again and again for their boudoir sessions. Ms. J first came to us when we were shooting in the old studio, so we were thrilled when she came back for a shoot in our current boudoir studio here in Winston-Salem, NC. This time we did a maternity boudoir session for her! Here at Biondi & CO Boudoir, we love a good maternity session. Pregnancy is such a beautiful experience, but it can also be hard on the mama to be when she doesn't look or feel like herself, so we always make sure to focus not only on the beauty of pregnancy, but also on the beauty and sensuality of our client outside of the baby bump. Ms. J was kind enough to write about both of her experiences with us, and has allowed us to share it here in our blog. So here is how her sessions went, in her own words!
An Unforgettable Experience
Growing up where “modest is hottest” was the norm, a boudoir shoot seemed unthinkable. But despite my hesitations, I went for it with Biondi & CO Boudoir. Spoiler: It was so empowering that I went back and did it again. Both my bridal and maternity shoots turned out to be unforgettable and changed how I view my body.
Bridal Boudoir: A Confidence Boost
Leading up to my wedding, I was a bit heavier than usual and anxious about how I’d view my body. Even though I wasn’t at my most confident, Joel and Shelby at Biondi & Co Boudoir turned the experience into something incredible. They have a quirky, comical vibe that made it feel like I was hanging out with friends rather than working with strangers. They embraced all the awkward moments with humor and made sure I was comfortable throughout. They also never pushed me into any poses I wasn’t okay with, which made the experience even better.
The result? A beautiful boudoir album that I surprised my husband with on our wedding day.
Maternity Boudoir: Embracing Change
After such a great experience with the bridal shoot, coming back for a maternity session was a no-brainer. But once again, it wasn’t easy. Pregnancy was tough on me, and my body was changing so much that I didn’t even feel like myself. I rarely felt sexy or confident.
Joel and Shelby stepped up to the challenge once more. They made sure I felt at ease and celebrated the beauty in my changing body. They kept things relaxed and made sure every shot felt right for me. By the end of the session, I felt a new sense of confidence and pride in the journey I was on.
The Wrap-Up
Both shoots—bridal and maternity—were game changers for me. They helped me see myself in a new way and celebrate two major life moments.
